Bill Haberman

September 5, 1962 — November 15, 2011

Bill Haberman, son of James and Madelyn (Moulsoff) Haberman was born on September 5, 1962 in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up near Barney, ND and attended school in Wyndmere and graduated in 1980. He attended NDSCS and studied Diesel Mechanics.
Before he began farming Bill was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, DeeDee Kjar on March 12, 1983 at Wyndmere Lutheran Church. Bill and DeeDee made their home on a farm near Barney where they raised their four children.

Bill served on the Barney Township Board for 21 years and was a volunteer firefighter for the Barney Rural Fire District where he also served as a board member. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor which he maintained throughout his battle with cancer. A quick joke, or tease, was his way to show he thought of you as a friend even in his last days. Nothing put a bigger smile on his face than a big fish on his line while he was ice fishing, or spending a nice summer day on the pontoon at the lake. The main reason he enjoyed these things was really to spend time with those that were closest to him.

Bill is survived by his wife DeeDee, Barney, ND; his children, Kelly (Casey) Foertsch, Underwood, MN, Billy (fiance, Casey Wilke) Haberman, Barney, Tracey (special friend, Casey Bovkoon)Haberman, Fargo, ND, and Thomas Haberman, Barney; his mother, Madelyn Haberman, Barney; his three brothers and six sisters, Jeff (Vicki) Haberman, Sioux Falls, SD, David (Cathy) Haberman, Grand Forks, ND, Bob (Nya) Haberman, Battle Lake, MN, Susan (Dennis) Poppen, St. Charles, MO, Jane (Chuck) Gilleland, West Fargo, ND, Patty (Stu) Boyer, Horace, ND, Mary (Dale) Erbes, Barney, Kristie (Mark) Boyer, Barney, Linda (Kevin) Schnepf, West Fargo; his sister-in-law, Joy Haberman, Wyndmere; and many nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his wife's family, Karolyn Nelson, Gwen and Charlie Rotenberger, Jennifer Kjar, Joy Haberman, Debby and Doug Heitkamp, and Diane and Kent Bender.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, James L. Haberman, and his brother, Jim Haberman.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo, ND in Bill's name.

We wish to extend a special thank you to Doug Heitkamp, George Hager, Jim Moffet, Mitch Rhodenbaugh, and all the local farmers that helped us out during this last growing season. Your help was very much appreciated! Thank You, Bill's Family.
