Dallas Rossow

Dallas Rossow, 89, Breckenridge, MN formerly of Great Bend, ND passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Health, Breckenridge. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 31, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with Rev. Sean Daenzer officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Dallas was born on June 10, 1925 in Brandenburg Township, near Great Bend, ND to Carl and Grace (St. John) Rossow. He grew up and attended school in Brandenburg Township and after his schooling he worked on the family farm.

Dallas was united in marriage to Elaine Wanek on November 29, 1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, ND. They lived on the Rossow family farm where they farmed and raised their children. In 1987, they moved to a residence south of Breckenridge, MN where he lived to the present day. Elaine passed away on April 25, 2014.

Dallas was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was a Church Elder, and was very active in his church and community activities. He also served on the Wahpeton School Board in the 1970's and served as township assessor.

Dallas farmed all of his life and was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was very strong in his faith to Jesus Christ and entrusted that to his family.

Dallas is survived by his daughter, Kim (Dan) Peterman, Peosta, IA; his sons, Tom (Donna) Rossow, Milnor, ND, and Kevin (Kerry) Rossow, Dassel, MN; his ten grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elaine, his son, Charles Rossow, his brother, Maurice Rossow, his infant sister, Gale and his great-grandson, Noel.
