Donald Score, 55, Dwight, ND died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at Faith Lutheran Church, Dwight, ND at 11:00 A.M with Rev. Gordon Lee Officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Willow Creek Chapel from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Same time as his father's service.

Donald Alan Score was born on January 25, 1957 to Georgette Zirk and Herbert Warren of Minneapolis, MN. During his developmental years he was raised in a foster home until his adoption on October 30, 1960 to James and Ardis Score of Dwight, ND. Don attended elementary school at Dwight and graduated from Wahpeton High School in May of 1975. While attending high school, Don was elected student body vice-president and served as the school mascot. He received the G.I. Sholey service award which was voted on by the senior class to that senior which had provided the most service to the school.
After graduation he attended the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, ND where he served as "Wildcat Willie" the mascot for the college. He later transferred to Dickinson State University where he became active in District 37 politics and served as a volunteer which helped to re-elect Gov. Arthur A. Link. In the 80's Don was employed at North Dakota State University where he took advantage of the benefit of taking one class tuition free. He ran for the North Dakota State Legislature twice and graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, MN in 1984. After leaving his position at NDSU he accepted a management position with the American Diabetes Association; serving as the Western Field Director. In the 90's he worked at the Barnesville Good Samaritan Center as housekeeping director. He also worked many years with the local beauty pageants; with several of his winners going on to the Miss North Dakota and Miss America pageants. On September 17, 2011 he married Judith Burhans in Breckenridge, MN and the couple made their home in Dwight, ND.

Don suffered numerous heart issues including three heart surgeries and two spine surgeries; however complications from Ankylosing Spondylitis overcame his ability to fight off this rare form of arthritis.

He is survived by his wife Judith Score, Dwight, ND. his mother, Shirley Score, his brothers David (Viola) Score, Wahpeton, ND and Marlon Ungar, Ft. Worth, TX. a sister Kathy (Brian Bietz) Score, Fargo, ND, two nephews, Duane Score, Oakes, ND and Joe (Katie) Score, Michell, SD, a great niece, Alexis Gina and several step-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents, his adoptive parents, James and Ardis Score, his grandparents, Joseph and Clara Score and Edwin and Ella Larson and his niece, Gina Score.

Memorials are preferred to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Lung Association.
It was Don's wish to donate his body to UND Medical School.
