Doris E. Jones, 77, Breckenridge , MN , formerly Wahpeton, ND, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at St. Catherine’s Living Center , Wahpeton. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church , Breckenridge , MN , with Rev. Burt Benson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 5 PM to 8 PM with a 7 PM prayer service at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens , Wahpeton.





Doris E. Jones was born April 20, 1931 at Lidgerwood , ND , the daughter of Alfred and Vera (Gallmeyer) Meyer. She was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church , Barney , ND on June 8, 1945. She attended school at Wyndmere , ND and graduated from Wyndmere High School . She worked for the Wahpeton Hotel and on May 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Dale Jones. After his duty in the service Dale returned home from the service and the couple opened the Meyer-Jones Farm Store in Wahpeton with Alfred Meyer. They later opened Ransom-Richland Implement in Lisbon , ND , in 1980. They sold their stores to David Meyer and Darrell Larson in 1985 and retired. They continued to live in Wahpeton until they moved to Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge in 2007. Dale passed away on February 8, 2007; Doris continued to live in the Villa.





Doris was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed crocheting with her crocheting group. She will be sadly missed by her special friends at Twin Town Villa.





Doris is survived by her daughter, Lynnette (Dale) Gilles, Wahpeton, ND; two granddaughters and four great grandchildren: Dawn (Stacy) Buckhouse , Breckenridge, MN ; children Carter, Noah, and Rylee Lynn; Laura (Travis) Iverson, Doran, MN and child Ethan.





She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale Jones, her brother, Jim Meyer, and her brother-in-law Kenneth Jones.
