in 1948. Ethel worked at

Restaurant
in Wahpeton,
taught school at
Brampton

ND
, from 1948 to 1949, JC Penney’s in Wahpeton and the hospital in Breckenridge. She was united in marriage to Delmer Hoefs on September 9, 1951 at
Immanuel
Lutheran
Church
, Wahpeton. The couple farmed near Wahpeton. Ethel later worked for a time at the Scotwood Hotel in Breckenridge at the front desk. Delmer passed away August 10, 1999, and Ethel entered St. Francis Nursing Home in Breckenridge.

, where she had taught Sunday School, later transferring her membership to
Immanuel

Church
, Wahpeton, where she made Baptismal Napkins for the church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking
Ethel is survived by her two sons and two daughters: DelWayne (Mae) Hoefs, Wahpeton; Larry Hoefs, Grafton, ND; Denise (Corey) Goodijohn, West Fargo, ND; Saralee Hoefs, Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren: Neil, Ryan, Elise, Kallie, DeAnna, Nicole and Jessica, one great grandchild, Jacob; her brother, Alfred Baker, Graceville, MN; two sisters, Florence (James) Bladow, Wahpeton; and Shirley Marohl, Wahpeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Baker, her husband Delmer Hoefs, infant grandchild, Nichelle Hoefs, and three brothers: Wesley, Wayne and Ernest Baker
