James Amundsen

April 25, 1973 — July 5, 2015

James Amundsen, 42, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at CHI St. Francis Health, Breckenridge, MN. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 10, at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

James was born on April 25, 1973 to Kenneth and Mary (Ahles) Amundsen in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up and attended school in Wahpeton, ND and graduated from the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown, ND. He lived in Fargo, ND and Grafton, ND before returning to Wahpeton in 2007. He worked with Red River Human Services on a newspaper route.

James loved to listen to music and had to have his special stations on in special places. He enjoyed a new deck of cards, Slinkies, marbles, dominoes, and having ice cream every night with his friends. He especially loved the time that he would spend with his parents and have his mother's homemade apple cake.

James is survived by his parents, Ken and Mary Amundsen, Wahpeton, ND; his brother, Steven Amundsen, Minneapolis, MN; his aunts and uncles; and his friends and coworkers at Red River Human Services.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Grace Ahles, Arthur and Ethel Amundsen.
