James Lauman

January 12, 1941 — February 28, 2014

James Lauman, 73, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday, March 4, at 9:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM prayer vigil at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Jim was born on January 12, 1941 in Breckenridge, MN to Hubert and Louise (Elmquist) Lauman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. He graduated from country school Dwight #1. Jim lived and farmed on the family farm his entire life. He enjoyed all things pertaining to farm life. He especially enjoyed seeding the fields in spring and trucking grain during the harvest. He also did gardening, lawn mowing, and other things that needed to be done.

Jim also enjoyed playing pool, going to the casino, fishing, watching old westerns on TV and being with his friends. He will be missed very much by his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his brothers, Frank, William, and Edward Lauman and his sister, Helen Lauman all of Wahpeton, ND; his nephew, John Lauman, Fargo, ND; his nieces, Catherine (Blaine) Stigen, Hillsboro, ND, Elizabeth Lauman, Wahpeton, ND, Starla Hecker, Ketchikan, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Mary L. and Caroline Lauman, his brother, Phillip A. Lauman, his nephew, Justin F. Lauman, his niece, Karen Lauman, his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Lauman.
