Jubert Malme, 79, Wahpeton, ND died Friday, November 30, 2007, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus-Hospital, Breckenridge, MN. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 5 at Faith Lutheran Church, Dwight, ND with Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton; also, visitation one hour prior to time of service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Wahpeton VFW Post No. 4324 and the Hafner-Miller-Ross American Legion Post No. 20, Wahpeton.



Jubert Ole Malme was born November 14, 1928, at Shelly, Minnesota to Ole and Josephine (Flikka) Malme. He received his formal education in Shelly and Climax, MN. On June 26, 1949, he married MayDelle Luckason at Hawley, MN. Jubert entered the US Army on January 20, 1953, served in Wiesbaden, Germany, and was honorably discharged on January 6, 1955. In 1956 the couple moved to Wahpeton where he farmed. In 1970 he started Malme Equipment, an implement business, and in 1980 he added Radio Shack and Johnson Two-way Radio. He continued this until 1984 when he retired from farming. He started M & J Truck Sales, Inc. in 1987 which his son Jay operates today.



He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, El Zagal Shrine Center, Fargo and the Arabian Knights Shrine Club, Wahpeton, Masonic Lodge A. F. & A. M. No. 15, Wahpeton, Wahpeton Eagles Aerie No. 2749, Wahpeton VFW and American Legion, and Sons of Norway.



Jubert was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, along with snowmobiling and water skiing. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren.



He is survived by his wife, MayDelle, Wahpeton; his 4 children, Mitchel (Janet) Malme, Fargo, ND, Joy (Daniel) Sunram, Audubon, MN, Jay (Jada) Malme, Wahpeton, Paulette (Larry) Kutzler, Minneapolis, MN; 9 grandchildren, Justin, Tanner, Melanie, Kelsey, Emily, Sicily, Sawyer, Cade, and Avery; his brother, Merlyn (Linda) Malme, Mesa, AZ; his sister, Verlys (Helmer) Homme, Winger, MN; and several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Kenneth and LeRoy.



Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, and the American Cancer Society.
