Keith Bedford

Keith B. Bedford, 69, Wahpeton, ND, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at his home. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton with Rev. Kathryn Rothman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 6 PM prayer service at Willow Creek Chapel ( 920 3 ^rd Ave. N. ) Wahpeton, and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens , Wahpeton. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.











Keith was born December 30, 1939 at Esmond , ND , the son of Gordon and Marlyce ( Georgeson ) Bedford. Keith graduated from LaMoure High School in 1957. He majored in Accounting at Jamestown College and graduated in 1961. He worked for various Auto Dealerships in the Fargo-Moorhead area, including Overvold Motors where he met and later married Sandra Kay Larson on August 8, 1970. The couple lived in Denver , CO , Fargo, ND, Lisbon , ND and Moorhead , MN where Keith worked for a variety of Dealerships including Overvold Motors and Anderson Pontiac.  His reputation, experience, knowledge and business ethics compelled the Dealerships to compete for his services. In 1984, the family moved to Wahpeton, ND, where Keith had been working at Smith Motors in Wahpeton. Keith continued as business manager for Smith Motors until recently when he became semi-retired.








Keith was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church . Over the years he was an accomplished handyman, woodworker and electrician.  He was a fan of the Mash TV Show and enjoyed reading Peanut’s comic strip. His vision impairment never diminished his ability to be proficient at his job and his interests.











Keith is survived by his son and daughter and three cherished grandchildren: Jason Bedford, his child Haley, Moorhead , MN ; Susan (Ryan) Bronson, their children, Nicholas and Abigail, Wahpeton; his brother, Gary (Karen) Bedford, Sun City , AZ ; and Maryalls Bedford, Silver Spring , Maryland .











He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sandra Kay.
