Lloyd Ferguson

Lloyd Ferguson, 99, Wadena, MN, formerly of Breckenridge, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his residence under the care of his family and Hospice. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 AM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Lloyd was born on August 1, 1914 in Breckenridge, MN to James and Goldie (Bradford) Ferguson. He grew up and attended country school south of Breckenridge and worked on the family farm. Lloyd was united in marriage to Lorene Formaneck at St. Adelbert's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND in 1940.

The couple lived and farmed south of Breckenridge until 1969, when they moved to Bozeman, MT where they purchased the Inn at Gallatin Gateway. They operated that business until 1976 when they moved to Alexandria, MN. They moved to the rural Wadena, MN area in 1985. Lorene preceded Lloyd in death on September 4, 2004 and Lloyd continued to live on the farm to the present day.

Lloyd spent over 50 years collecting and restoring antiques which included cars, tractors, toys, and furniture.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Delores (Jim) Lawrence, Clearwater, MN; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Debbie (Patrick) Lahr, Rice, MN and their children, David and Daniel; Michael (Lisa) Lawrence, Sisters, OR and their children, Joshua and Jorden; Steven (Christine) Lawrence, Glenwood, MN; his four sisters, Alys Sullivan, Prescott, AZ, Dorothy Foster, Prescott, AZ, Margery Madsen, Fargo, ND, and Joyce (Harold) Lindor, Prineville, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Goldie Ferguson, his wife, Lorene Ferguson, and an infant brother, James Wilbur Ferguson.
