Lorna K. Hendrickson, 46, Wahpeton, ND passed away peacefully on December 11, 2008 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Riveredge Hospice, Breckenridge , MN . Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 16 at Bethel Lutheran Church , Wahpeton with Rev. Jule’ Ballinger officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church , Wahpeton; also, visitation Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery , Fergus Falls , MN .





Lorna Kaye Hendrickson was born April 10, 1962, at Princeton , MN to Glenn Wardowe Greenlee and Gladys Beryl ( Fairbanks ) Greenlee. She lived in Prior Lake , MN until 1969 when she and her family moved to Fergus Falls , MN . She was confirmed June 5, 1977, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls . She graduated from Fergus Falls High School on May 30, 1980. On September 12, 1981, Lorna was united in marriage to Steven Bruce Hendrickson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church . They made their home in Wahpeton. Lorna was employed as a medical transcriptionist at the Hope Unit in St. Francis Healthcare Campus for the past 10 years.





Steve and Lorna were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Maggie Wynne, born on February 24, 1988, and Lauren Elise on August 13, 1990.





Lorna was a remarkable woman. A mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and so much more, she touched the lives of so many of those around her. Her sense of humor, her smile, her heart of gold and her willingness to help others stand out as qualities she instilled in her children. She welcomed all with open arms, whether they were friends, family, or complete strangers. Lorna loved to volunteer her time to various causes to do whatever she could to always lend a helping hand. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church , participating as a board member, confirmation guide, etc. Lorna enjoyed spending most of her time doing outdoor activities with family and friends. She enjoyed camping at Cross Lake for the past 28 years, taking an “annual girls weekend away,” hosting exchange students, sitting along the North Shore of Lake Superior picking rocks, and snuggling with her dogs.





Although she has passed, she will always be a fond memory in the lives and hearts of many.





Lorna is survived by her husband of 27 years, Steve, Wahpeton; daughters, Maggie, Fargo, ND, Lauren, Wahpeton; dogs, Brutus and Cubbie; a special friend of the family, Todd Vetter; two sisters, Jane (Chris) Krajecek, Horace, ND, Diane Moreland, Twin Cities, MN; 1 brother, Jim Greenlee, Enderlin, ND; sisters-in-law, Jill (mark) Nyhus, Detroit Lakes, MN; Judy (Les) Meis, Fergus Falls, MN; brothers-in-law, Gary (June) Hendrickson, Moorhead, MN; Mike Hendrickson, Pelican Rapids, MN; Keith (Diane) Hendrickson, Fergus Falls, MN; many nieces and nephews; and 5 exchange students, Eva Vasquez, Spain, Ehui Adover, Africa, Carola Mayer, Germany, Coco Wong, Hong Kong, and Igor Menezes, Brazil.





Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and her mother and father-in-law, Donald and Exilona Hendrickson.
