Marilyn Miller

Marilyn Crogan Miller, 66, Fargo, formerly Dwight, ND, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Dwight, ND with Rev. Gordon Lee and Rev. Sandra Hollands officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Faith Lutheran Church, or Bethany Homes. Arrangements have been entrusted with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Marilyn Syverson Crogan Miller was born on August 12, 1948 in Breckenridge, MN to Ryland and Erma (Anderson) Syverson. She grew up in Dwight, ND and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1966 and also attended Josef's School of Hair Design.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Donald Crogan on October 13, 1973. The couple farmed with Donald's brother, Duane near Dwight. Donald passed away on April 27, 1993. On May 25, 1995 Marilyn married Robert Miller and lived in Wahpeton until moving to Fargo in 2011. For the past two years she has been a resident of Bethany Homes where she valiantly and quietly fought at battle with COPD.

Marilyn had many artistic interests including, rosemaling, quilting, and calligraphy. She also liked puzzles, board and card games, and especially playing with her nieces and nephews who knew her as Mimi. Most of her life was spent taking care of others and she was known for her sense of humor and her infectious laugh.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Bob, stepdaughters, Jessica (Wayne) Battista, Fargo, ND, Brandy (John) Bjorem, Hawley, MN; her stepson, Robert (Kelsey) Miller, Mapleton, ND; ten step-grandchildren; her brothers, Ryland (Lavetta) Syverson, Grand Forks, ND, Lynn (Jean) Syverson, Fredericks, MD, her sister, Sheri (Martin) Garcia, Colorado Springs, CO; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ryland and Erma Syverson, and her first husband, Donald Crogan.

Marilyn's family would like to thank Bethany Homes and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the exceptional care they provided for Marilyn during the past two years.
