November 29, 1939 — June 21, 2010

Mary Lou Meyer, 70, Fairmount , ND , passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at Innovis Health in Fargo , ND . The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 25, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fairmount. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5 PM to 8 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Vigil at Willow Creek Chapel ( 920 3 rd Ave. N. ) Wahpeton, and one hour before the service at the church in Fairmount. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery , Fairmount. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.





Mary Lou was born November 29, 1939 at Fairmount, the daughter of Holger and Marion (Whitehead) Bertelsen. She grew up near Fairmount and attended school, graduating from Fairmount High School in 1957. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Anthony Meyer on November 30, 1957 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fairmount. The couple lived near Fairmount, where they raised their three sons. Mary Lou later worked for Tri-State Grain, H&R Block and in 1988 started employment with Cenex in Fairmount which she continued to work up to the present time.





Mary Lou was a life long member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ladies Circle and taught catechism. She was involved with her son’s activities, serving as a Cub Scout Leader and 4-H Leader. She enjoyed her flowers and vegetable garden, ceramics and the light of her world was her grandchildren.





Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Anthony, Fairmount; her three sons: Scott (Sandy) Meyer, Fairmount; Neil (Patty) Meyer, Frisco, Texas; Bradley Meyer, Belgrade, MT; seven grandchildren: Justin, Eric, Jared, Brett, Connor, Paige, and Kyle; her brother, Daryl Bertelsen, Big Timber, MT; and her sister Diane Bertelsen, Bozeman, MT.





She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Chuck and Karl Bertelsen, her grandson Josh, and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Bertelsen.
