Milo Jerome Olson, the youngest child of Gust and Emma (Cornelius) Olson, was born in Homestead Township on September 26, 1923. He attended school at Homestead School #1 and graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1941. In 1943, he took over the operation of the family farm and later farmed with his brother LaVerne.

Milo married Louise Johnson at the First Baptist Church in Fargo, ND on September 10, 1955. They made their home on the Olson family farm and had two children, David and Marilyn. Milo loved raising Hereford cattle and was a farmer throughout his life, eventually passing the operation to his son and grandson Cody creating a fourth generation farm. In 1983, they built a new home and moved into Wyndmere. In retirement, the couple wintered in Brownsville, TX for eighteen years. Milo became a resident of St. Catherine's Living Center in 2012. Louise passed away on January 17, 2014.

Milo was a member of Wyndmere Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and taught Sunday school for ten years. He also served as a Homestead Township officer for fifteen years. Milo was a hard working farmer and cattleman, but when there wasn't work to be done he enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center, watching sports, and dancing with Louise.

Milo is survived by his son, David (Rosemary) Olson, Wyndmere, ND; his daughter, Marilyn Olson, Coralville, IA; his grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Amanda, and Cody; his great-grandchildren, Logan, McCoy, and Ella; his sister, Lorraine Krogness, Weatherford, TX, and many nieces and nephews.
