Robert Skelton

Robert Skelton, 81, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his residence. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND followed by a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, October 24, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brandon Wegener officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Robert "Bob" Earl Skelton was born March 15, 1934 in Hayes Center, Nebraska. As a child he moved with his family to Riverton, Wyoming where he graduated from high school and was quarterback on the football team. He attended college at University of Wyoming where he also served in the National Guard. He was united in marriage to Pearl Prilook in 1956. After graduation from college he worked as a seed certification agent in Agriculture Extension Program. He worked for Holly Sugar in Torrington, WY and for ASCS in Park County, WY. He accepted employment at Minn-Dak Farmers Coop in Wahpeton in 1973 as an Agriculturist. Bob retired in 2001 but continued to stay close to the sugar beet industry by helping at the piler stations during sugar beet season.

Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pearl, Wahpeton; three sons and a daughter, Glen (Lizann) Skelton, Stillwater, MN; Bruce (Debbie) Skelton, Highlands Ranch, CO; David (Joy) Skelton, Estero, FL, Susan (Dave) Uhren, Vining, MN; nine grandchildren: Sami, Cathleen, Michael, Jenny, Erik, Carol, Gretel, Keeler and Spencer.
