Roman Weber, 77, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 10:00 AM, at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, with visitation Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Vigil, at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of arrangements.

Roman "Romie" Weber was born on January 14, 1936 to Lawrence and Marie (Henkenius) Weber in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up in the Barney, ND area where he attended school and graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1953.

Romie was united in marriage to Connie Halstenson on January 5, 1959 at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton. The couple lived in Breckenridge, MN where Romie worked at the Standard Service Station until they moved to Mooreton, ND where he was the assistant manager at the Mooreton Farmers Elevator. In 1967, the family moved to Rutland, ND where Romie was the general manager at the Rutland Farmers Elevator. Romie and Connie moved to Wahpeton in 1989 where he briefly worked for Minn-Dak Farmers Coop and finished his career in the ag industry with Harvest States Coop in Mooreton when he retired in 2003. In 1985 they purchased a home on Blanche Lake in Minnesota which was a special haven for them to spend with their children and grandchildren. Connie passed away on April 14, 2007. Romie continued to live in Wahpeton until he became a resident at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND in June of 2012.

Romie enjoyed playing amateur baseball in Barney and Mooreton which turned into softball in his later years in Rutland. When they lived in Rutland he was very active in the community including: Little League Coach, Sportsmans Club, Development Corp., City Council and Community Club. Romie also enjoyed traveling with Connie, hunting, fishing, and watching the Twins and the Cubs.

Romie is survived by his son, Mark (Vicki) Weber, Rutland, ND; his daughter, Beth Brandon, Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Anna Weber, Ryan (Darci) Weber, Adam Weber, Betsy (David) Ness, and Abby Brandon; his great-grandson, Jackson Ness; his in-laws, Murial (Gordon) Johnson, Rodney (Fran) Huberty, Glenn Wateland, Janet (Sherman) Johnson, Cheryl (John) Lee, Pamela (Bill) Braun, Judy (Mark) Underberg, Renee (Joe) Speidel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie; and his brother, James Weber.
