Vylet Vafed

Vylet R Vafed, 84, McLeod, ND, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Freeman Cemetery, rural McLeod. Arrangements are with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.
Vylet R Vafed was born on January 27, 1929 to Elmer L. and Inga V. (Olson) Vafed in rural Barney, ND. She attended country school in the McLeod area. She graduated from Wyndmere High School. She went to Beautician School and then to Modeling School in California. Vylet then returned to North Dakota to help her mother on the farm where she resided until becoming a resident of St. Catherine's Living Center in July of 2010.
Her interests were a love of horses and riding them. She also enjoyed growing flowers and writing.
Vylet is survived by a nephew and wife, Gary and Cindy Graham, Hartington, NE, a nephew-in-law, Dan Blegen, Brooklyn Park, MN, and 1 great niece and husband, Nicholas and Brittany (Graham) Burbach and 3 great nephews, Garret Graham, Lance and Larisa Blegen and Shane Blegen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Edwin, Andrew and Duane Vafed, her sister and husband, Gordon and Gloria (Vafed) Graham and niece, Rozanne (Graham) Blegen.
