Adeline Severson

Adeline Severson, 92, Breckenridge, MN, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at CHI St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 19th, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND, with the Rev. Mark Manning officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Freeman Cemetery in rural McLeod ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
Adeline was born on December 6, 1923 near McLeod, ND, the daughter of Carl and Inga (Wickoren) Dybdahl. She attended schools in McLeod. She was united in marriage to Alton Severson on March 3, 1944. They lived most of their working years in the McLeod area where they farmed and operated a general store and post office. After retiring in 1980, they moved to Breckenridge, MN where they resided in the York Manor apartments. Alton passed away on September 25, 2000, and a few years later Adeline entered the St. Francis Nursing home.
Adeline enjoyed helping people and she shared her gift of praying with many in the nursing home. She was often called on to pray at the bedsides of residents who were ailing. Adeline also was recognized for saying the daily prayer.
Adeline is survived by her niece, Pat Renschler (Les) of Minneapolis, MN, nephews, Terry, Mark and Kim Kuruc of Wahpeton, ND; many nieces and nephews who were like her Grandchildren; special long-time friends, the Dean and Janet Dahl family, and other close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Inga Dybdahl, her brother, Morris Dybdahl and two sisters, Mavis Dybdahl and Opal Kuruc.
