Antoinette Gjesdal

Antoinette “Annie” Gjesdal, 18, Wahpeton, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 in a car accident in Wahpeton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethel Lutheran Church , Wahpeton with Rev. Kathryn Rothman officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the Bethel Lutheran Church from 3:00-6:00 P.M. with a 5:00 P.M. Prayer Service. Interment will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens , Wahpeton. Vertin-Munson Wahpeton is in charge of arrangements.

“Annie” Gjesdal was born on May 24, 1991 in Breckenridge , Minnesota . She was baptized at the Luverne Lutheran Church , Luverne , North Dakota . She attended the Learning Tree Preschool in Breckenridge , MN and elementary school at Zimmerman School in Wahpeton.

In 2005 she was confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church , Wahpeton. “Annie” was a very talented young woman; she graduated from Wahpeton High School on her 18 ^th birthday, May 24, 2009 with academic honors, she spent this last summer working full time at the NDSCS Enrollment Services Office and had started her Practical Nursing curriculum this fall at the North Dakota State College of Science. Her plans were to continue her education in the medical field and pursue her Doctorate in Neurology. She was a family-oriented girl who enjoyed time spent with family and friends, holidays and being creative with her baking skills. She had a large number of cookbooks and most recently tried her new Paula Deen recipes. “Annie” was a disciplined student and made a personal choice as a teenager not to drink; she would prefer a movie with friends instead of house parties. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church , National Honor Society, Wahpeton High School Band, Tennis and Art club. She was extremely creative and many of her art projects were displayed at both her home and school. “Annie” was very ambitious and worked with the high school and college concessions. She attended the Presidential Inaugural in Washington , DC this past January with the Close-Up Club of WHS.

She will be sadly missed by her loving mother, Brenda, Wahpeton, ND, her “Special Mom” Carol and Sid Harrison, Fargo, ND, her uncle Bradley and Rhonda Gjesdal, Cooperstown, ND and special cousins, Erika Gjesdal, Valley City, ND and Garret (Lindsay) Gjesdal and their daughter, Esther, Lancaster, MN, and a very special friend in Amanda Loepp, Wahpeton, ND.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Doris Gjesdal of Cooperstown , ND .
