Ardon Merle Doran, 83 of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at St. Catherine’s Living Center. His service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Faith Church in Wahpeton, ND, with Pastor Jack Olson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Prairie View Cemetery in Barnesville, MN.

Ardon was born to Warren and Alice (Huseby) Doran on October 4, 1942, in Detroit Lakes, MN. He graduated from high school in Barnesville, MN, and went on to complete his associate's degree at NDSCS Wahpeton, ND. He married Ruth Williams at North Immanuel Church on July 19, 1963, NW of Pelican Rapids, MN. Together, they raised two children, Michael and DeVonne.

Ardon worked in the telephone industry for 40 years. Twenty-six of those were with Red River Communications as a repairman and later as the General Manager. He was also involved in farming.

He was a member of Faith Church in Wahpeton, served on the school board for Barnesville Public Schools, was mayor of Ray, ND, and raced stock cars in Tioga, ND. He played several sports; his favorite was golf, which he played for over 50 years.

Ardon is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Michael R. (Della) Doran, Minot, ND, and DeVonne Doran-Haarstad, Wahpeton; grandchildren, Tyler Haarstad, Wahpeton; Heather Haarstad, Fargo; Elise (Jesse) Barlow, Stanley, ND; Michael J. Doran Minot, ND and Derick Doran, Williston, ND; great-grandchildren, Aryahna and Avalon Doran, Minot, ND and his sister, Marilyn Bauer, Moorhead, MN; and two sisters-in-law, Blanche Doran, New Brighton, MN and Debbie Doran, Wahpeton, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Vernon Doran and Don Doran.
