Bertram Merritt

Bertram A. Merritt, 91, Breckenridge, MN, formerly Christine, ND, passed away, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at CHI Health Care, Breckenridge, MN. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 22 at Christine Lutheran Church, Christine, ND, with Rev. Karin Moberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at Christine Cemetery, Christine, ND. Arrangements have been entrusted with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Bertram, "Bert" was born November 23, 1924 the son of Earl and Selma (Gunderson) Merritt. He attended school in Christine and graduated from Christine High School. He farmed the family farm with his two brothers, Donald and Marvin. He continued to farm until entering Pioneer Cottages, Breckenridge, MN, in January, 2013.

Bert's life was his farm and all the challenges and rewards which came from his occupation. He enjoyed his evening rides in which he would check on his crops and visit with his neighbors.

Bert is survived by several cousins and his close friends, including Craig Granholt and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Donald and Marvin Merritt.

Memorials are preferred to Pioneer Senior Cottages, Breckenridge, MN.
