Bruce Cal Brendefur was born on December 24, 1945 to Raymond and Mabel (Haugen) Brendefur in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up and attended school in Campbell, MN. Bruce began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad at a young age, working in Montana, South Dakota, and most recently, Morris, MN. He never missed going to work in Morris, even during a raging snow storm, to clean the switches and keep those trains rolling. Bruce retired from the railroad in 2000 after 34 years.
Bruce enjoyed gardening, grilling, cards, hunting and fishing. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews. He always encouraged them to create mischief and come up with practical jokes.
Bruce is survived by his siblings, Lloyd Brendefur, Sheridan, WY, Wayne (Carol) Brendefur, Fergus Falls, MN, and Margaret (Darrell) Nulph and Karon Meyer, both of Wahpeton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary and Alan Brendefur; sister, Sharon Meyer; sister-in-law, Leona Brendefur; and brother-in-law, Warren Meyer.
