Catherine M. Crogan was born October 3, 1934 to Conrad and Pauline (Roholt) Crogan in Wahpeton, ND.  She grew up and attended elementary school in Dwight, ND and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1953. After high school she attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo, ND, graduating in September of 1956. She then began working at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN as an RN.

She married Eldon Larson on November 24, 1956 at Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight.  Eldon and Catherine made their home in Wahpeton, until moving to the family farm near Dwight, in March of 1957. Catherine was a dedicated wife and mother, working alongside Eldon on the farm, sewing clothing and quilts for her family, and attending school events for her daughters.  She worked part-time at the hospital for a number of years.  In 1979, they moved to Wahpeton and then Fargo in 1998.  Eldon and Catherine wintered in Mesa, Arizona and spent summers at the lake in Minnesota. After Eldon’s death, she lived at Touchmark and then resided at Bethany on 42 until her passing. A special thank you to the staff at Bethany for their loving care.

Catherine was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight, Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, and Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. She enjoyed sewing and needlework, and baking Scandinavian goodies. For 8 years she served as a 4-H leader. She loved shopping with her daughters.  She enjoyed any opportunity to be with her grandchildren, taking them to the zoo, Dairy Queen, or the craft store. She attended many of their school activities braving any weather condition to be in attendance.

Catherine is survived by her four daughters, Susan Farbo, Buffalo, MN, Cheryl (Terri Blattenbauer) Larson, Clear Lake, MN, Jean (Bruce) Bokinskie, Fargo, ND and Janice (Bruce) Nereson, Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren, Ashley Schulzetenberg, Amsterdam, Laura Farbo, Amsterdam, Maxwell and Khloe Blattenbauer-Larson, Clear Lake, Katherine (Tyson) Evans, Grand Forks, Kirsten Bokinskie, Fargo, Sarah Nereson, Fargo, and Benjamin Nereson, Fargo.
