Charlotte Fogel, 89, of Breckenridge MN, formerly of Minot ND, passed away at Twin Town Villa on Sunday, February 27th, 2022, surrounded lovingly by her daughter, Nancy West, and her granddaughters, Valerie (Chad) Bigwood and Whitney (Ryan) Petersen.
Charlotte Ann Monson was born December 14th, 1932 in Makoti ND to Kenneth and Mary (O'Rourke) Monson. She later moved with her family to DesLacs ND, where she graduated from High School in 1950. She then moved to Minot where she worked as an operator for Northwestern Bell. She married Lyle Fogel on July 1st, 1951 in Minot, where they lived for the next 63 years.
Charlotte attended Minot State College where she received her Bachelor and Master degrees in Education. She taught at various rural schools before starting at North Hill School in Minot, teaching 1st grade until her retirement in 1994.
Charlotte was an avid golfer and a member of the Minot Country Club for many years. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Along with her husband, she attended numerous basketball games and tournaments for local high schools and Minot State University.
Charlotte and Lyle moved to Southlake TX in 2014, where they enjoyed spending time with family, and the snowless winters. Charlotte moved to Breckenridge MN, in November 2019.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters; Pamela (Rick) Svor, Denton TX; and Nancy West of Wahpeton ND; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Lyle; son-in-law Gus West; her parents; and her siblings Dorothy Wallace, Leah Sundsbak, and Frank Monson.
A memorial service and burial will be held in Minot ND at a later date.
