Charlotte M. Harris, 89, of Wahpeton, ND passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, with Rev. Jen Tyler officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
Charlotte Margaret Harris was born January 19, 1928 near Underwood, MN, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Moen) Pederson. She attended Country School No. 231 and graduated from Underwood High School in 1945. She worked at City Bakery in Fergus Falls where she met the love of life, Paul. Charlotte “Pinky” was united in marriage to Paul Harris on April 24, 1953 at EUB Church in Wahpeton, ND. They lived in Fergus Falls until moving to Wahpeton in 1961 where they raised their five children. Paul passed away September 18, 2002 and Charlotte continued to live in Wahpeton spending time with her children, grandchildren great-grandchildren and friends.
Charlotte was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening flowers, and bowling. Her Bell collections was one of her favorite pastimes as well as cake decorating and babysitting. She never put herself before others. She saw the good in everything and encouraged others to do the same with unconditional love. She was a true role model. She had the kindest heart and truly cared for all.
Charlotte is survived by her son and four daughters: Gene (Patti) Harris, Paula Harris, Judy (Kevin) Nelson, Lori (Wayne) Mohs, Lisa Jaixen (Joe Heger), all of Wahpeton; 9 grandchildren, Nicole (Clay) Howitz, Jennifer (Tyrel) Rau, Bradley Harris, KrisCinda (Michael) Erickson, Jessica Mohs (Tyler Morin), Christopher (Toni) Mohs, Jamie Mohs, Amanda Jaixen (Brady Jilek), and Casey Jaixen, 8 great grandchildren: Grace, Bodie, Chase, Ethan, Gabriel, Leighton, Ryla, Clara; her sister, Laura (Rolland) Moore, Loveland, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul, her sister, Helen Pederson and her brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and LaDonna Pederson.
