Cheryl Martell

Cheryl Martell, 61, Wahpeton, North Dakota, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 in her home.

The memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Harvest Outreach Church, Wahpeton, ND, with Reverend Dominick Warne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Cheryl Ann Martell was born April 17, 1954 in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Clifton and Marcella (Brose) Edinger. She graduated from Carrington High School, Carrington, ND in 1972, and later attended the Interstate Business College in Fargo, North Dakota. Cheryl and Jim met at the Carrington A&W where she would take his order while he traveled through town. He later proposed to her by the Buffalo in Jamestown, ND.

On October 12, 1974 Cheryl was united in marriage to James Henry Martell at Bethel Chapel in Carrington. Right after they were married, they moved to Sacramento, CA while Jim was in the U.S. Airforce. Next, Jim and Cheryl moved back to North Dakota. Cheryl found employment at what is currently Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. She worked for the bank for roughly 36 years. The couple made their home and raised their two children in Wahpeton.

She is remembered with love by her husband, James Martell, Wahpeton; her daughter, Kimberly (Allan) Thornton, Fargo; her son Corey (Jena) Martell, West Fargo, ND; Three grandchildren: Shelton, Montgomery, and Calli; her mother, Marcella Edinger, Carrington, ND; and her sister Vicki (Dave) Buechele, Bloomington, IL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Edinger.

Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton have been entrusted with arrangements.
