Christopher George Monday

Christopher (Chris) Monday was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 31, 1972, to George and Stephanie Monday. They went on to have two daughters, Kelly and Dana. Chris went to school in Blossom, TX, where he later graduated.

Chris worked in Sherman, TX, until he met Beth and moved to Breckenridge, MN. He held various jobs over the years until he settled at Minn-Dak Farmers Co-op, where he worked for over 15 years. Chris welcomed Beth's two children with open arms, Brooke and Daniel, and later Brooke's three children, Hayden, Jorden, and Chevy. Chris also had a very close relationship with his mother-in-law Stella, which continued over the years. Chris and Beth were married September 9, 2003, and they welcomed their first-born daughter Kyleigh on January 19, 2004. A year later, on September 7, 2005, they welcomed their son Kristopher. Chris can be best remembered as a proud, loyal, and dedicated father to Kyleigh and Kristopher. Chris always made sure his family was provided for and made sure they had everything they wanted. Chris would talk proudly about his kids to anyone who would listen.

Chris enjoyed taking them on yearly trips to Texas to visit his mom and siblings, and to Oklahoma to visit his Mamaw Betty. Chris loved fishing with his kids, taking them to Fargo to get them out of the house, playing darts, and could often be found uptown with a Dr. Pepper in hand. Chris enjoyed rock music, traveling, especially to Texas and Connecticut, and going to different casinos. Chris would greet everyone he knew with a smile and “Hey, how are you?” Chris was also friendly and kind. March 4th, 2024, Chris met the love of his life, Amy Jo, doing what they both loved: throwing darts. They immediately clicked and became soulmates. Chris and Amy enjoyed playing darts together, with locations ranging from Wahpeton, ND, Fargo, ND, and Grand Forks, ND, and fishing and camping; they always looked forward to going on vacations, showing her the sights and seeing her eyes light up. Chris has a huge dart family who often called him “Monday” that he loved to see and visit with. Chris had also taken to Amy's two children, Elizabeth and Daniel, Elizabeth's boyfriend Ashton, and grandson Ashton Mark.

At the end of Chris’s life, he left this world by giving the greatest gift of all: being a donor. He was able to gift others the gift of life. Kyleigh and Kristopher would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone for all the love, help, and support shown to them in this difficult time.

Chris spent his final weeks fully alive: attending a Banana Ball game, embarking on a memorable two-week trip to Connecticut with Amy Jo, and savoring peaceful afternoons swinging on his porch, his phone spinning stories into the breeze he so loved. The day before he left this world, Chris returned from work, chose his favorite spot outside, and sat quietly, present with both himself and the gentle wind. It is a comfort to all who loved him that his last moments were marked by the simple pleasures that defined his days.

Chris passed away at St. Francis Medical Center on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the age of 54. A Celebration of Life in his honor will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 3 pm to 7 pm, at the Red River Human Services Foundation Track Center, 207 5th St S., Wahpeton (please use the west door).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to the arrangements to lessen the financial burden on Chris’s children.
