David Knutson

David Knutson, 68, passed away November 20, 2017 at Sanford hospital surrounded by family.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2017 followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton.  The Funeral will be at 10:30 am, Saturday December 2 at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home.  Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

David was born to Esther (Christianson) and Bennie Knutson in Dawson, MN.  In 1951 the family moved to Appleton, MN.  Later they moved to Minneapolis, MN where David graduated.  On February 14, 1975 David was united in marriage with Charlene Maghan in Veblen, SD.  They moved to Wyndmere, ND in 1976.  David retired from Wil-rich in 2015.

David was a quiet, hard working man who loved his family and friends.  He had a giving heart and was always ready to lend a hand.  David enjoyed spending time with his family.  The little ones would crawl in his lap to rock or to listen to him read a book.  He enjoyed sitting around bonfires visiting with children, grandchildren and siblings.  He loved fishing, camping, traveling, and playing whist.   David will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but they will have many great memories to share as they gather together.

David is survived by his wife Charlene; five children: Keith of Fargo,ND, Boyd (Samantha) of Phoenix, AZ, Mark of Phoenix, AZ, Patricia of Detroit Lakes MN, Jeffery (Teri) of New Rockford.12 grandchildren: Jordan L. Knutson, Megan Knutson, Michaela Knutson, Cassidy Knutson, Alyssa Verwer, Autumn Krause, Shayne Krause, AnnaRose Knutson-Spenst, Issac Steele, Jordan T. Knutson, Jayden Knutson, Jackalyn Knutson, 9 great grandchildren, Siblings: Carolyn (Lyman) Stein, Burnell (Earl) Hofmann, Raymond (Diane) Knutson, Marion Roseland

He is preceded in death by his parents Bennie and Esther Knutson and a brother-in-law Carl Roseland.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, 820 4th St. N. Fargo ND, 58102.
