Delores "Arline" Worner

Delores Arline Worner, 90, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on January 23, 2019.

“Arline” was born on August 25, 1928 in Walcott, ND to Sigvard and Dorothea (Boyer) Walberg. Her early years were spent helping with the family farm before and after school until moving to Wahpeton. She served at The Del Rio where she met her love and future husband, Frank Worner. Arline and Frank were united in marriage on June 29, 1946 and were married for 35 years until Frank’s passing in 1981.

In addition to assisting at Worner Printing, Arline helped to support her family by working as a dietary aide at the Leach Home. She held that position for 32 years until her retirement in 2003.  Arline loved to cook and bake and in retirement she enjoyed visits from family and friends, doing cross-word puzzles, embroidery, and was an avid reader.

Arline’s faith and family were at the center of her life. She was a member of the Evergreen United Methodist Church and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know her. Some words from her family and friends…she was a grateful, positive, encouraging, genuine, humble, strong, faithful, unconditionally loving, and beautiful soul. “She was the sweetest”, “the kindest lady I’ve ever known”, “simply the best”, “an angel”, “an amazing woman”, “she loved with her whole heart”, “the embodiment of love”, “she was our rock”.

Arline is survived by her sisters, Donna Hintgen, Wahpeton, and Linda (Donny) Whited, Rochester, MN; 5 children, Lanny (Anne) Worner, Branson, MO, Brad (Barb) Worner, Devils Lake, ND, Steve (Linda) Worner, Fargo, ND, Sandie (Todd) Johnson, Forest City, IA, and Nancy Kruse, Fargo, ND; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank, her infant son, Gregory, and her brothers Marlen and Duane.

Arline’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Strand, Rev. Jen Tyler, and for the tremendous care given by the staffs of the Leach Home, St. Francis Nursing home, and Hospice Care.

Visitation will be held at Vertin-Munson Funeral home, 224 6th St N, Wahpeton, ND 58075 on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 4-6 pm. A celebration of life service will follow at 6pm.
