She was united in marriage to Gordon Polda at St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Hankinson on March 31, 1973. While they were living in Lidgerwood, ND, Gordon passed away on March 24, 1979. Diane then moved her family of two children to Hankinson, where she was later united in marriage to Dick Anderson on December 1, 1979, until they parted ways in 2011.

Diane had a great work ethic that started at a young age. She worked many different jobs throughout her life. Diane was a member of River of Life Community Church and worked with the Sunday School program. She always liked to keep busy and had a wide variety of interests- like being an avid hunter, fishing, gardening, photography, and always wanting to be outside- to quilting, dancing, painting pictures, and working with stained glass. Her favorite place to be was camping with her family at Silver Lake, near Rutland, ND, and she cherished any time being spent with her grandchildren.
