Donald Rosley

October 24, 1929 — April 28, 2015

Donald P. Rosley, 85, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 1, at 1:30 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Erika Buller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton, ND, with Military Honors provided by Wahpeton Military Unit and North Dakota Honors. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Don was born October 24, 1929, at Fargo, ND, the son of Einar I. and Anna (Evenson) Rosley. He attended schools in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High. He attended Dakota Business College and entered the US Army in 1949 serving during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. He then served in the North Dakota National Guard for 20 years. Don enrolled in Electronics at NDSCS and upon completion accepted employment with NDSCS as an instructor. He married Marion J. Frankl on June 19, 1956 in Fargo, the couple lived in Wahpeton, where they raised their family; Don continued teaching for NDSCS for 37 years. Marion passed away August 31, 1979. Don married Mona J. Hansey on October 26, 1984, the couple continued to live in Wahpeton. For several years the couple had pumpkin land in which Don would give school children tours. Don entered Bethany Homes in Fargo in 2014.

Don enjoyed teaching and loved to dance. He was an accomplished roller skater and played hockey in high school.

Don is survived by his wife, Mona, Wahpeton; a daughter and three sons: David Rosley, Aurora, IL; Dawn Rosley, Fergus Falls, MN; Michael Rosley, Wahpeton; Daniel (Chris) Rosley, Aurora IL., 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister Eleanor Oremland, Springfield, VA; three step sons and two step daughters: Scott, Wade, Kent and Melanie Hansey, all of Wahpeton; and Tiffanie (Jon) Pew, Chokio, MN.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marion, two sisters, Arlene Moe and Helen Rosley.

Memorials are preferred to NDSCS for Scholarships or Wounded Warrior Project.
