Dorothy Lee

Dorothy "Dottie Melissa Lee, 94, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly Wichita, KS, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton.  She will be buried on her family grave space this spring in Wichita, Kansas.

Dorothy was born February 2, 1925 to Arthur E. Waldo and Annie M. Schmitz in Wichita, Kansas. She is the third of 6 children. Dorothy was better known by family and friends as "Dottie". She moved from Wichita, Kansas to Cogswell, North Dakota in 1986.

She was gifted in sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Dottie leaves a legacy of love and congeniality towards others. When she smiled or laughed-you forgot what you were upset about.

Dottie is survived by her children; Mary Haughton, Lorraine “Frankie” Hickman, Elaine Soden, Brenda Voigt, Richard Powell, and Wilma Bennett; she is also survived by grandchildren; Daniel Haughton, Sue, Deborah, John Haughton, Jennifer, Tami Lynn, Kimberly, Shawn Kline, Natashaha Candy, Michelle Gauna, Estaban Gauna, Caleb Chambers, Keilah Chambers, Grace Chambers III, and Elijah Chambers III; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Lawrence Lee (first husband), Robert M. Bennett (second husband), Alfred Lee (third husband), Linda Lee (daughter); and her siblings, Pearl Dalton, Beatrice Doran and Earl Waldo.
