Dustin Krause

Dustin Krause, 33, Fairmount, ND passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 as the result of a car accident southwest of Fairmount. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 5, at 10:30 AM at the Fairmount Community Center, Fairmount, with Rev. Anthony Ahrendt officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND and also one hour prior to the service at the community center on Friday. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Fairmount, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Dustin was born on July 16, 1981 to Douglas and Bernice (Miller) Krause in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up and attended school in Fairmount. After his schooling he began working for Krause Brothers Construction in Wahpeton and he also worked for Jim and Jay Miller Farms. In 2012, Dustin purchased a semi-truck and began his career as an owner-operator under the name Krause Trucking, LLC. He loved driving "Marge" to the many different places around the country. Dustin was the father of two children, Lexi, his daughter with his first wife, Diana Zietlow, and Preston, his son with his second wife, Kris Shilhanek. His children were his pride and joy.

Dustin was a member of BFAM and a past member of the Fairmount Fire Department. He loved hitting the road on his bike and feeling free. He also enjoyed driving race cars, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, hunting, and riding horses. He was also known as a person to drop everything and help people when they needed it.

Dustin is survived by his children, Lexi Krause, Hankinson, ND, Preston Krause, Wahpeton, ND; his sister, Shawna Krause (Josh Lugert), Fairmount, ND and her children, Kodie and Chaz Green; his grandfather, Milton Krause, Fairmount; the mothers of his children, Diana Hermes and Kris Krause; and his special friend, Stacy Vrchota; his uncles and aunts, Roger (Kim) Krause, Wahpeton, Diane (Don) Johnson, Battle Lake, MN, Karleen Krause, Fargo, Jim (Darlene) Miller, New Effington, SD, Oren (RoseMary) Miller, Fairmount, Wayne (Lori) Miller, Fairmount, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Bernice Krause, his paternal grandmother, Lavonne Krause, his maternal grandparents, Don and Helen Miller, and his uncle, Bruce Krause.
