Edith A. Jordheim, 85, rural McLeod , ND , died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Breckenridge, MN. Funeral Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 19, at Wyndmere Lutheran Church . Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. at Willow Creek Chapel ( 920 3 rd Ave. N. ), Wahpeton, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Freeman Cemetery , rural McLeod. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of arrangements .





Edith was born February 2, 1924, at West End Township , rural Wyndmere , ND , the daughter of Louis W. and Eva (Olson) Mashek. She grew up on a farm northwest of Wyndmere where she attended country school. Edith worked for the Kjos family and later for Mobil Oil in Wyndmere. She married Ed Jordheim in 1944 and the couple farmed in Freeman Township , rural McLeod. Ed passed away February 28, 1995; Edith continued to live on the farm until June of 2008 when she entered St. Francis Nursing Home.





Edith was a member of Grace Lutheran Church , rural Wyndmere, where she was active in the ladies aid and the quilting guild. She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary, and enjoyed gardening, canning, and making quilts for her family.





She is survived by six children: JoAnne (James Lyons, Lisbon, ND; Sharon Liudahl, Bismarck, ND; Robert Jordheim, and his special friend Kay Wray, Lisbon, ND; Selmer (Reta) Jordheim, McLeod; David Jordheim, Thompson, ND; Barbara (Leo) Lyons, Lisbon, ND; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, her brother, Edward Mashek, Fargo, ND; four half-sisters: Helen (Ray) Novotny , Lidgerwood, ND; Carol (T.J.) Spale, Grafton, ND; Beverly (Duane) Huus, Cathay, ND; Jeanette Froslie, Chula Vista, CA; two sisters-in-law, Barb Mashek, Wyndmere; Olga Lee, Kindred, ND.





She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed, her sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Adin Helgeson, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Lyle and Sylvia Mashek, Harold and Fayma Mashek, and Mike Mashek.
