Edward Klein, 89, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away at his home on Monday, June 16, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Wahpeton. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Breckenridge, MN.
Edward was born in 1935 to John Godfrey Klein and Bertha (Meyers) Klein in Alsen, ND.
After graduation, Eddy (as he was called by his family) enlisted in the US Army, the Korean War, where he became a master sharp-shooter and also an ammunition handler for the airplanes.
Our dad married the love of his life, Lois Denler, in 1958, and that is where their journey began. Ten years later, he found the Lord. Our dad had a gift with people. His gift was seeing people for who they are, and he never judged them. Shortly after, the family found the Lord because of Dad’s example. Our dad was focused on being a model father and also a model in the church. He taught Sunday school and was a member of the board. Ed loved life and loved being in the midst of people. Everyone was his friend and became family. If you knew our father, you were blessed.
Dad was a gift to us, and at the right time, God took him home. Even though he was our father, he was a gift to us and a gift to others. God said, “Hey Ed, come home. Your time is done. I’m going to give you a new body, new mind, no more pain.” To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Ed is the last of the Klein family. He leaves behind 3 children; Jeff Klein (Julie – deceased), Loralynn Olson, and Mark Klein (Christine). Five grandchildren; Amos, Philip, Jordan, Judah, Josiah. Three great-grandchildren; Elijah, Aurora, Elise.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Klein; his son, Todd Klein; his brothers and sisters; Clarance, Bernice, Janice, Marylou, Maletta, Roy, Ralph, and Kenny.
