Edwin Anderson

Edwin H. Anderson was born on January 1, 1919 on the Anderson Family Farm in Marboe Township , Sargent County, ND to Henning and Alma (Johnson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church of Lidgerwood, ND, and attended country school in Marboe Township .

Edwin was united in marriage to Fern Freeman on June 19, 1942 at Bergen Lutheran Church . They lived on the Anderson Family Farm where he was a dedicated small grain, row crop, and beef farmer. In September of 2003, they retired from farming and moved to Wahpeton, ND.

Edwin was an active member of Bergen Lutheran Church and served on the church council. In later years, he was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Veblen , SD and for the past six years attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton.

Edwin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Fern of Breckenridge, MN; his daughters, Carol Anderson, Warren , MN , Nancy ( Tyler ) Schmitz, Lake Orion , MI ; his granddaughter, Abigail and her fiancé, Erik Sauro, Chicago , IL ; his two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Herman.
