Jerome Evenson

July 10, 1954 — March 1, 2015

Jerry Evenson, 60, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, 10:30 am, at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Breckenridge, MN, with Rev. Mark Manning officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Breckenridge, MN. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Jerome "Jerry/Coot" was born on July 10, 1954 to Arlin and Lorraine (Lee) Evenson in Fargo, ND. He grew up and attended school in Breckenridge, MN. He was a man who liked to organize things and worked for various businesses in the community including; The Embassy Hotel, Rick Electric, Nordick Electric, Cenex, and ending with Summerville Electric as the "Head Custodial Supervisor."

Jerry was a member of Breckenridge Lutheran Church, and the Eagles Club. He liked to snowmobile, play pool, watch TV sitcoms and the Minnesota Twins, trips to Branson, MO and going to the lakes. He especially liked to spend time with his friends at Casey's Bar and enjoyed traveling about the twin towns on his three wheeled bike and later in life, his electric scooter.

Coot was a very special person who touched the lives of many and in return was supported and loved by the entire community. He will be very missed by his family and many good friends.

Coot is survived by his parents, Arlin and Lorraine Evenson, Wahpeton, ND; his brothers, Keith (Pam) Evenson, Park Rapids, MN, Jeff (Amy) Evenson, Lino Lakes, MN; his sisters, Wanda Tschida, Laurel and Bonnie Evenson all of Fergus Falls, MN; his nieces and nephews, Jasmine (Jerry), Jordan (Breanne), Joe, Megan, and Ethan; his grandniece, Makenzie; and his grandnephew, Landon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his brother-in-law, Gerald Tschida.
