JoAnn V. Score

JoAnn Vickers Score, 71, of Colfax, ND, passed away peacefully on May 5th in the loving care of Heather's House Hospice, surrounded by her family.

JoAnn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Score; her daughters Jessica Felker (Al) of Oshkosh, WI, and Tricia Score (Andreas) of Copenhagen, Denmark; four grandchildren, Samantha Strickland (Travis), Colton Felker, Emmett Gottrup, and Madison Gottrup; and one great-grandchild, Aubrie Strickland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Geraldine Vickers, and her sister, Linda Petersen.

JoAnn was born in Detroit Lakes, MN and spent her early years in Minot and Devils Lake before graduating from Fargo South High School. She went on to attend North Dakota State University, where she met the love of her life, Larry. Together they built their home in rural Colfax where they raised their two daughters.

Following her girls through their school activities and sports, her smile and laugh were always welcome. She served on the church council for Our Saviours Lutheran Church and was involved in the Women’s group and enjoyed participating in bible studies.

She was a woman of remarkable creativity, and her gift for crafts brought joy to everyone around her. In her later years, that love was felt most deeply through the many quilts she lovingly made for family and friends. Over the years, JoAnn worked as a professional picture framer and went on to enjoy a long career at Union State Bank.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Colfax Community Center on Thursday, May 14th, from 3:30–7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Our Saviour's Church in Colfax, designated for the Quilt Fund, so that JoAnn's warmth and love may continue to comfort her community.
