JoAnne Milne, 67, Wahpeton, ND died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at her home. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 10 at St. John ’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton; also, visitation Tuesday one hour prior to time of service at the church. Interment will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery , Wahpeton.





JoAnne Marie Milne was born November 1, 1941, to George and Lillian (Zahonek) Milne at Wahpeton, ND. She received her education at St. John’s Catholic School , Wahpeton and Wahpeton High School . She received her Associate’s Degree at North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton and her bachelor’s degree at Valley City State University , Valley City , ND . She taught school for 1 year at Foxhome Elementary School teaching 5 th and 6 th graders; 12 years at Mantador Elementary school teaching 7 th and 8 th graders; and 32 years at Hankinson Public Schools teaching Junior and Senior High English, district librarian and was speech and one-act play coach.





JoAnne dedicated her life to her students and her profession. She was an avid reader; enjoyed computer work; loved her dogs; and enjoyed gardening at Lake Elsie , near Hankinson in the summer and fall months.





She is survived by her sister, Mary (Michael) Sullivan, Carmel, IN, her 3 brothers, James, Thomas, and Frederick, all of Wahpeton; and her nephew, Patrick Sullivan, Miami, FL





She was preceded in death by her parents.
