Jordan Malingen

Jordan Malingen, 24, Breckenridge, MN, formerly of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2017 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. Visitation will continue at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, January 10, at the United Methodist Church, Breckenridge, MN, with Rev. Mark Gronseth officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Jordan Malingen was brought into this world to Jon and Joyce (Tordsen) Malingen on November 19, 1992 in Elbow Lake, MN. He attended school in Elbow Lake until the 3rd grade, Barnesville, MN until the 7th grade, and later earned his GED in Wahpeton, ND. Jordan loved his job at WCCO as a tool man and looked forward to returning to work. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially frolfing and spending time with his family and friends. His smile lit up the world, and will be greatly missed.

Jordan is survived by his parents, Jon and Denise Malingen; sisters, Sonia (Brandon) Johnson and Areca (Kale) Schmit; brothers, Timothy (Brandi) Peterson, Josh (Tracy) Malingen, Jessie (Jenn) Hendrickson, and Cody Hendrickson; grandmothers, Ramona Malingen and Sharon Olson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Tordsen; his grandparents; and his nephew, Chase Johnson.

Jordan left a special gift, Brodie, to a very special family: Russ, Deanna and Bridger Wiese.
