Judith Seavert

Wahpeton, ND – Judith “Judie” Christine (Anderson) Seavert, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home on September 15, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Nordland Lutheran Church, 311 Cooper Street, Rutland, ND 58067.

Judie was born in Veblen, SD, on January 14, 1950, to Rudy and Edna Anderson. She attended schools in Rutland, Havana, and Forman.

In October 1968, she married Ron Seavert, and together they raised three children: Stephanie, Christopher, and Brady.

Throughout her career, Judie served her community as a teller at Sargent County Bank, City Auditor of Forman, and Postmaster in Cogswell, Verona, and Fairmount, ND.

In 2010, Judie married Steve Grohs, and they enjoyed their time together at Lake Traverse and in Port Aransas, TX.

Judie’s passions included sewing and quilting, entertaining friends and family, fishing, and playing pinochle and bridge. Her favorite place to be was on or near the water, where she could outfish anyone. She made friends wherever she went and was known for her infectious smile, her gift for bringing people together, and her love of community theatre. She contributed greatly to every community she was part of and will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and generosity.

Judie is survived by her husband, Steve; daughter, Stephanie Watson; son, Brady (Amy) Seavert; grandchildren, Emily Reller, Brevan (Hannah) Watson, Bramlee Watson, Addison Seavert, and Rylee Seavert; great-granddaughter, Blair Watson; sister, Sonja Christensen; brother, Jeff Anderson; along with many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ron, her son Christopher, and her brother Arden Anderson.

Judie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
