Leonard Goos

Leonard (Len) George Goos, 83, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly of Roseau, MN entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton. His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Inspiration Lutheran Brethren Church, Breckenridge, MN with Rev. Steve Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Len was born in Malung, MN on December 31, 1932 to George and Elenora Goos. He started school in a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Roseau High School in 1952. He went on to earn a degree in engineering from Dunwoody College of Technology and was stationed in Germany upon joining the army in 1956. When he returned to the US, Len married Ellen Bluhm on October 22, 1960. Following the birth of four children, Len and Ellen moved to Roseau, MN in 1969, where he began his twenty-year career at Polaris Industries in design engineering. In Roseau, Leonard also participated in work on the family farm and was an active member of Rose Free Lutheran Church. With their children grown, Len and Ellen moved to Texas and briefly to Michigan where he worked in various engineering positions. In 1994, Len retired with Ellen to a lake home in Clitherall, MN. There he attended Battle Lake Alliance Church where he became an elder.

Len was reunited in heaven with his wife Ellen, parents George and Elenora, and brother in law, Dale. He is survived by his children, Tami (Keith) Mitterling, Heidi Dresser, Jodi (Todd) Holston, and John (Julie) Goos; sister, Ruby (Kenneth) Broten; Sisters-in-law, Gayle (Chuck) Alberg, June (Ron) Panek and Betty Stamm; grandchildren, Tony, Brittany, Sean, Stephanie, David, Alayna, Laura, Jace, and Karissa; nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.
