Lorella Grob

Lorella “Lollie” Grob, 87, Mesa , AZ , formerly of Great Bend , ND , went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Banner Baywood Hospital , Mesa , AZ . The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14 at Evergreen United Methodist Church , Wahpeton, ND, with Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date at Zion United Methodist Cemetery , Great Bend , ND .





Lollie Grob was born April 5, 1921, the daughter of Gustav and Rose (Lubenow) Berndt. She grew up on the family farm near Great Bend and attended a nearby rural school . She later graduated from Wahpeton High School . Lollie was united in marriage to Carl Grob on June 27, 1941 at Great Bend . They moved to Minneapolis , MN where Carl was drafted into the US Army. Lollie worked at the Twin Cities Arsenal in New Brighton , MN before she moved to Seattle , WA where she work ed in the shipyards . She l ater moved to Oakland , C A where she became employed as a streetcar driver for the East Bay Transit Company. After Carl was honorably discharged in 1945 the couple returned to Great Bend , where they farmed. The couple moved to Arizona in 1969 due to Carl’s MS. Lollie then started her profession in real estate in 1976. She was known for her honesty and integrity and many of her clients became life long friends. Carl passed away April 23, 2000. Lollie continued to reside in Mesa , AZ and remained active in real estate until age 85.





Throughout Lollie's life and wherever she resided, her warm and friendly personality attracted people to her & graced her with many friends. S he truly valued the closeness of friends , relatives and family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards , games and was always open to new experiences including mastering “ W ii bowling”.

Lollie was a devoted loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. H er family was truly the "pride & joy" of her life . She had a deep and devoted faith in her Lord which she drew strength from through the many mountains & valleys of her life



Lollie is survived by her four children: Sandra (Larry) Thiele, Great Bend, ND; David (Holly) Grob, Gilbert , AZ; Debra Vogt, Mesa, AZ and Tom (Terri) Grob, Anoka , MN; eight grandchildren: Carrie Hanson, Chad Thiele, Carla Thiele, Matthew (Dak) Grob, Pat Sweeney, Rachel Minks, Thomas Grob and Amber Grob; eight great grandchildren: TJ , Justin and Hunter Hanson; Samantha and Sara Holcomb, Wesley and Reese Minks and Thomas William Boyer . She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Rose, her husband Carl, four brothers: Irby, Alton , Cyrus and infant brother Alvin; and three sisters: Cleo Anderson, Augusta Mitzel, and Sevilla LaBonte.
