Lorraine Ann Fenske, 85, Wahpeton ND, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on September 16, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND after suffering numerous injuries from a fall on September 8, 2014.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton ND with Pastor Sean Daenzer and Pastor Anthony Ahrendt officiating. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Great Bend, ND.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, September 19, 2014 with a 7 pm prayer service at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Lorraine Krueger was born March 22, 1929 in Summit Township to Arthur and Eleanor (Koppelman) Krueger, baptized on April 7, 1929 and confirmed on April 18, 1943 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend ND.
On June 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Melvin Fenske in Great Bend, ND. They farmed south of Great Bend before retiring to Wahpeton in 1981.
Lorraine was a faithful member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League for the past 64 years where she held many offices. She had been a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed many years of being on bowling and billiard leagues. Lorraine and Melvin also enjoyed square dancing and playing cards.
Melvin and Lorraine spent many winters in Arizona and she enjoyed all the many places they traveled to with their camper. In 1992, they went to Latvia, Russia to do volunteer work with the Lutheran Hour Ministries. Lorraine enjoyed baking, cooking and yard work, but her passion was serving her Lord Jesus Christ.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Melvin Fenske, Wahpeton ND; daughters LoAnn Loepp and Lois Fenske, Wahpeton; grandchildren Matt (Jenni) Randall, Rugby, ND, Mike (Jen) Loepp, Pittsburgh, PA, and Amanda Loepp, Wahpeton, ND; great-grandchildren Haylee and Andee Randall, Rugby, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son & daughter-in-law Lynn & Sharon Fenske and son-in-law John Loepp.
