Louise Erickson

September 9, 1934 — December 20, 2017

Louise E. Erickson, 83, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton.  A Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 22 at 3:30 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton.  Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Louise Elaine Meyer was born on September 9, 1934 in Hankinson, ND to Gilbert and Adaline (Krebs) Meyer.  She grew up and attended school in Hankinson, later graduating from St. Francis Academy.  On June 18, 1954, Louise was united in marriage to Wayburn Erickson.  They made their home in Wahpeton, ND where they raised their five sons.  Louise worked many years as the head cook at Zimmerman Elementary in Wahpeton before her retirement.

Louise enjoyed staying active in the church and was very strong in her faith.  She loved spending time with her family and watching all of her grandchildren.

Louise is survived by her five children, Kevin (Valerie) Erickson, Craig (Brenda) Erickson, Scott (special friend, Michelle) Erickson, Terry Erickson, and Christopher (Kimberly) Erickson; her grandchildren, Justin, Dan, Austin, Patty, Scott Jr., Katrina, Nichole, and Jeremy; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayburn; parents, Gilbert and Adaline; and siblings, Helen Dickerman, Butch Meyer, Betty Hinrichs, Donna Mae Hatch, and Floranne Tester.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to CHI Health at Home Hospice, Breckenridge, MN.
