Louise Ida Kressin Jordheim Roche, 89, Fargo , ND , formerly of Walcott , ND , died Friday, October 31, 2008, at Bethany Homes , Fargo . Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 3 rd at Walcott Lutheran Church with Rev. Sarah Larsen-Tade officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday at Bethany Homes Chapel (201 University Drive South), Fargo from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service with Rev. Phil Larson officiating; also, visitation one hour prior to time of service at the Walcott Lutheran Church on Monday. Interment will be held at Walcott Lutheran Cemetery , Walcott.





Louise Kressin was born January 20, 1919, at Wahpeton, ND to Arthur and Mathilda (Radig) Kressin. She attended Barney Parochial School and Danton Township rural school for 2 years. Louise graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1937. She attended Valley City State University and received her teaching degree. She taught school in Viking Township , Leonard and Davenport . She married Conrad Jordheim at Barney , ND on May 30, 1942. The couple raised their family of 8 children and farmed in rural Walcott. Conrad and Louise retired to Mesa , AZ in October of 1982, and Conrad died in Mesa in December of 1982.





In 1984 she married Robert A. Roche in Scottsdale , AZ , and the couple enjoyed their retirement days with church fellowship/service and traveling. Robert died in 1999, and Louise continued to reside in Mesa until 2001. Following three years at Windmill Ponds in Alexandria , MN she moved to Bethany Homes in Fargo . At Bethany , she lived with her “womb-mate” (twin sister) Lucille Ward for two years.





Louise was a member of Walcott Lutheran Church , and formerly of Our Savior’s Lutheran


Church , Mesa . One of the highlights of her life was being chosen “North Dakota Mother of the Year” in 1980.





She is survived by her children: Sarah Jordheim, Ann Arbor, MI; Marie (Gary) Bjella, Durango, CO; Barbara (Dennis) Blilie, Walcott, ND; Ida Jordheim-Adams, Le Sueur, MN; Nancy (Wayne) Woolsey, Excelsior Springs, MO; Cynthia (Norman) Hoff, Spokane, WA; David (Karla) Jordheim, Sioux Falls, SD; and Connie (Paul) L’orange, Otsego, MN. Sixteen grandchildren: Jenni Eidsvig; Lisa Eidsvig; Mike Bjella; Anne Sanchez; Bryce Blilie; Ross Blilie; Austin Blilie; Paula Sherbrooke; Ryan Trom; Tucker Woolsey; Conrad Woolsey; Jordan Hoff; Rachel Hoff; Alex Pederson; Blake Pederson; Devan Jordheim. Five sisters, Alberta Tollefson, Mesa, AZ; Doris (Edwin) Olson, Dilworth, MN; Charlotte James, Mesa, AZ; Emily Hayes, Louisville, KY; and Sylvia (Alan) Kelley, Paso Robes, CA, and Gertrude Nelson, Alexandria, MN.





She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her sister and Marjorie Dye; her twin sister, Lucille Ward; and 3 brothers, Franklin Kressin, Kenneth Kressin, and Corwin Kressin.





In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice of the Red River Valley at 1701 38 th Street South , Fargo , ND 58103 .
