Mardel Morel

Mardel Morel, 49, Wahpeton, ND, formerly Dickinson, ND, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 16, at 10:00 AM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Jule' Ballinger officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home and one hour before the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Mardel was born on November 9, 1967 to Nickolas and Elizabeth (Hlebichuk) Morel in Dickinson, ND. He grew up in Dickinson and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1986. He was united in marriage to Teresa Cowell and to this union three sons were born.

Mardel moved to Wahpeton, ND and began working for Imation. When Imation closed he began working for WCCO Belting where he met Lillian Fehn. They were married on December 13, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight, ND and he became a father to Lillian's three sons. Mardel was currently employed with Minn-Dak Farmer's Coop in Wahpeton.

Mardel was a shy but romantic person who was a jokester and had an infectious laugh. He helped people when he could and loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.

Mardel is survived by his wife, Lillian, Wahpeton, ND; his sons, Dalton (Kaylynn) Morel, Wahpeton, ND, David and Delvin Morel, Erskine, MN; Lillian's sons, Billy and Mikey Upshaw, and Michael Thomas-Reiling, all of Wahpeton; his granddaughter, Bayleigh and Nateleigh due in May; his seven siblings, Marlo Morel, Christine, ND, Marvin Morel, Dickinson, MarJane Morel, Dickinson, Marlin (Diane) Morel, Dickinson, Martin Morel, Dickinson, Marcel Morel, Kingsland, Texas, and Marvel (Lori) Morel, Dickinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
