Carol Lovcik, 76, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015, at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service at the church, and one hour prior the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements have been entrusted with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.
Margaret Carol Lovcik was born on December 4, 1938 in Park River, ND to Floyd and Theodosia (Snaza) Wooldridge. She attended Mt. St. Benedict Academy in Crookston, MN and graduated in the class of 1957. Carol married Louis Lovcik on June 19, 1958 in Park River. The couple moved to Wahpeton in 1970 where they raised their seven children. She began working at St. Catherine's Living Center in 1976 and later returned to college in 1981, graduating from the North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton, ND as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in 1988. After graduation, she began working at the Broen Home, Fergus Falls, MN where she remained until her retirement in 2005.
Carol cared for her husband in their home for many years and they both entered St. Catherine's Living Center in 2015 due to poor health. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church
and enjoyed quilting, stitching and gardening. She also treasured the time spent with her family, her grandkids, and playing games.
She is survived by her husband Louis, Wahpeton, ND, her daughter, Theresa (Dave) Rassel, Fargo, ND and six sons; Gary (Beth Schlotfeldt) )Placentia, CA, Kelly (Cleo Hasse) Breckenridge, MN, Steve (Ann Peterson) New Hope, MN, Larry of Wahpeton, ND, Andy (Lori Reynolds) Brea, CA and Tony (Brenda Riepe) Plymouth, MN; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian Bresemann), Jenna, Greg, Michael, Noah, Sophia, Faith, Bryce and Ty; her step-grandchildren, Thomas, Ashley and Angie; great grandchild Ellie; step-great grandchildren, Easton, Kiley, Hannah, McKayla, Blake, Jayden, Serenity and Kerra. She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Veralrud, Delores (Cy) Novak, Grace Midgarden, Bonnie Wooldridge, Kathy (Tom) Matera and Judy (Bobby) Wyatt and her brother, Glenn (Lois) Wooldridge.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and "Teddy" Wooldridge and a brother, Maynard.
