Marie Draeger

Marie Louise Draeger, 81, Fargo, ND, formerly Barney, ND, went peacefully into the presence of her Lord on May 10, 2016 at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, Barney. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 2:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, Barney, ND with Rev. Sean Daenzer officiating. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Barney. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Marie was born on December 8, 1934 to Siegfried and Clara (Feyerherm) Hamann in Wadena, MN. She had five brothers and three sisters. Marie was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, MN and graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1952.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Frank Draeger at Trinity Lutheran Church and they were blessed with five children. They made their home on a farm near Barney, ND. Marie was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and LWML, as well as Homestead Homemakers. Family meant the world to her and she enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them.

Marie leaves to cherish her memory to her loving and devoted husband of almost 58 years, Clarence and their children: Rodney (Carolyn), Cindy (Darin) Viken, Steven (Lori), Susan (Mitch) Strege, and Tom (Connie), and 18 grandchildren: Cory (Lina), Doug (Kristie), Angela (Ryan) Haring, Daniel; Desiree Draeger, Diondrey Viken; Jinnie (Josh) Stai, Kari (Shawn) Reichenbach, Andrew (Alyssia); Ashley (Matthew) Scherbenske, Jonathon Strege; Nicholas (Molly) Mikkelsen, Ashley Mikkelsen, Derek (Melissa); Kom, Emanuel, Cassie, and Jordan Coyle Draeger and eight great grandchildren Abbigail, Colten, Brayden, Jaxten, Hayden, Lucy, Greta, and Nora; her four brothers, Fred (Yasie) Hamann, Ed (Marlys) Hamann, Rollie (Janean) Hamann, Arnold (Jodi) Hamann; her sister, Pauline Schwartz; and many nieces and nephews

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Louise Zimdars, Ruth Schlueter, and her brother, Herman Hamann.
