Marleen M Krause

Memorial service for Marleen M. Krause, age 84, of Wahpeton, ND, will be on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 2 PM at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Elk Creek Cemetery, Wyndmere, ND at a later date. Marleen passed away on April 5, 2026, at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her loving family.

Marleen was born on December 9, 1941, in Breckenridge, MN to Martin and Eileen (Klemetson) Solberg. She grew up in Wyndmere, ND, and graduated from Wyndmere High School. She married Leyone Krause on December 16, 1959, in Moorhead, MN. Following their marriage, they moved to Lidgerwood, ND, where they raised their family. Marleen moved to Wahpeton in 2014. Marleen was a wonderful seamstress, and she also enjoyed gardening. Marleen loved music, and it was such a large part of her life. She sang in the church choir and was a soloist for many funeral services. She truly enjoyed dancing as part of her love for music. After she moved to Wahpeton, on Tuesdays, she would meet her friends from Lidgerwood so she could stay in touch with them.

Survived by her children, Loni (Frank), Brett (MJ), Madalee (Terry), Marni (Michael), grandchildren, Miranda, Kole, Casandra, Tyler, Shahna, Dayne, Wyn, Lacey, Austin, Daniel, Drew, Baylee, Medora, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and brother, Delles (Paulette).

 Preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Eileen Solberg, husband, Leyone, and two daughters, Rhonda and Kaddi.
